Welcome back to the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza!
In Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the old and aging animatronics are joined by a new cast of characters. They are kid-friendly, updated with the latest in facial recognition technology, tied into local criminal databases, and promise to put on a safe and entertaining show for kids and grown-ups alike!
What could go wrong?
As the new security guard working nights, your job is to monitor cameras and make sure nothing goes wrong after-hours. The previous guard has complained about the characters trying to get into the office (he has since been moved to day-shift). So to make your job easier, you've been provided with your very own empty Freddy Fazbear head, which should fool the animatronic characters into leaving you alone if they should accidentally enter your office.

Unemployed and in need of a job? Well we have some great news! Step right up because Freddy Fazbear's Pizza just opened up a new place in town and they’re looking to hire a nightwatchman. And don’t worry about the rumors tied up to the previous place where the animatronics went haywire and killed the watchman.
Greet some old friends and make new ones
In Five Nights at Freddy's 2 you get to watch over, but mostly out for your old animatronics buddies and a few new ones that are equally ‘friendly’. Apart from the new characters you get a fresh location which looks nothing like the previous place (it’s creepier), it has no doors and it’s even trickier to monitor.
The cute and creepy robots have now been fitted with state of the art face recognition technology which unfortunately makes it even easier for them to focus on you. On the bright side, you do get an empty Freddy Fazbear head to wear so you can confuse the animatronics just enough so that they leave you alone for a short while.
Wonderful terror created by suspense build-up
Like in the previous version of Five Nights at Freddy's, the scares come from the constant tension build-up. You never know when the animatronics come to life and neither do you know what they're up to. All you can do is keep watching the monitors in hopes that you can spot them before they get to you.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 gets a considerable boost in difficulty, as if it wasn’t hard enough already. Sure, you get the empty bear head to hide behind whenever one of them enters your office but you can’t wear it forever. There’s a music box that you have to wind-up to make sure that one particular animatronic doesn't’ kill you, and again, you have a limited amount of battery power.
Unlike other horror games, in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 you constantly feel pressured by the fact that those killer kid-friendly robots can jump out at anytime. And when you’re scared, you’re more likely to make mistakes, mistakes that don’t end well.
An extra large scare with extra animatronics and pepperoni
To sum things up, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has more and creepier rooms to monitor, new robots to look out for and a lot more going on in terms of atmosphere. If you’re a fan of the first or horror games in general, this is a must-play.
